Fiji Scuba Diving Regions 6. Kadavu
World class, Kadavu’s early reputation was won by the Astrolabe and solo reefs are now household names among dive connoisseurs. It has been found that reefs encircling Kadavu offer outstanding diving and that its excellence is not confined to the two reefs that first made its name. In particular the Namalata and Tavuki reefs have had a good deal of exploration and are the focus of excellent diving.
North Astrolabe Reef
Huge reefs, massive walls and deep ravines. Tiera batfish, Maori wrasse, flame hawkfish, citrus gobies and canary blennies. Rainbow runners, yellowfin tuna and wahoo. If you're lucky, you'll see humpback whales, mantas, hammerheads and white marlin.
Usbourne Passage
Usbourne Passage has three pinnacles coming within 20 feet of the surface. Hard and soft corals. Unicornfish, anthias, basslets, wahoo, anemonefish, parrotfish and grouper. More than a dozen species of butterflyfish.
Aquarium 1 & 2
Small blue holes - 180 feet wide and 130 feet deep - carved out of a strip of barrier reef. Staghorn coral, table coral, lettuce coral. A full spectrum of reef fish, including long-nose file fish, squirrel fish, saddled butterflyfish and lemonpeel angelfish. Schools of gill-raker mackerel. This site is only accessible during high tide.
Naingoro Pass
A drift dive among red and purple soft corals, garden variety reef fish, nudibranchs and flatworms that varies from 20 ? 130 feet in depth. If you're lucky, you'll see tiger sharks, hammerheads and sailfish.
Caku Tolu
Four line snapper, soft corals, clown fish, fusiliers at 98 feet.
Groove Tube
Swimthroughs, soft corals, fans, sea whips, clown fish at 55 feet.
Mellow Yellow
Titan trigger fish, fans, soft corals, lion fish at 77 feet.
Susa Ika
Soft corals, moray eels, banner fish, squirrel fish, emperor angel fish, swimthroughs at 62 feet.
Butterfly Bommie
Butterfly fish, fans, pelagics, soft corals at depths of up to 60 feet.
Gutu Gutu
Tabel corals, fans pelagics, four line snapper, blue spotted rays at 62 feet.
Evil Trench
Wall dive, pelagics, fans, hard & soft corals at depths to 130 feet.
Dakunituba Reef
Fans, soft corals, spider shells, fusiliers, swimthroughs at depths of up to 90 feet.
Rainbow Tango
Clownfish, soft corals, garden eels, fans, swim throughs at depths of up to 63 feet.
Crazy Maze
Endless swimthroughs, soft corals, fans at depths of up to 55 feet.
Blue Tang
Blue tangs, soft corals, pelagics, lion fish, swimthroughs at depths of up to 60 feet.
Bure's Jewel
Soft corals, clown fish, fusiliers, swimthroughs at depths of up to 65 feet.
Mauicake
Soft Corals, crayfish, fans, clownfish, swimthroughs at depths of up to 71 feet.
Cakau Se
Soft corals, fans, lion fish, basket stars, swimthroughs at depths of up to 73 feet.

Description: Expect to see a lot of pristine cabbage coral, looks like an underwater garden, spectacular swim through with ghost pipefish inside. Dive site can be drift dive depending on the current and a very easy and mellow second dive.

Reef Life: Thick Yellow soft coral in amongst a series of arches and swim throughs
Description: This is one of the premier dive sites in Kadavu, dive through series of swimthroughs and archways covered with yellow soft corals and nudibranchs, slight -med currents will bring the soft coral out to feed. Visit the friendly sergeant major fish and see the dive guides give them breakfast.

Description: This is like canyon diving, start by swimming through a big swim through and check the ambient light creep through the crevice like tunnel. Following that experience swimming through arches of different kinds to where you'll find on top of the coral head many different varieties of clown fish, also pop corn shrimp can be found on this divesite.

Description: Follow your dive guide through 11 swim throughs in spectacular formations, this is a very long but satisfying dive, the swim through weave throughs the sea wall at all kinds of angles and each one has its spectacular formation of colors and fish life.

Description: A very good site for beginners to learn how to night dive. Consists of two coral heads and a max depth of 16mtrs. As well advanced divers will enjoy this site also because of the marine life that can be found here.One big attraction is the giant size nudibranch that can be found wondering around looking for food,also the turtles.
